Paul Pogba’s brother Mathias released from prison but banned from contacting ex-Man Utd star

The former Manchester United star is at the centre of an alleged extortion plot that includes his own brother which saw him arrested in September and held in custody .

Mathias Pogba was earlier charged and detained by French police in September, with the brother of former Manchester United midfielder Paul insisting he is innocent Mathias Pogba, the brother of France international midfielder Paul, has been released from prison after being held by French authorities in relation to an alleged blackmail plot against his sibling.

But his lawyer has since confirmed reports from Le Parisien that his client has been released – but there are some stringent terms as part of his freedom. It is claimed the terms of his release have also banned him from contacting brother Paul, as well as his own mum.

Mathias has also been restricted from leaving France and is not allowed to use any form of social media as he awaits trial. It ends three months of time in prison, after a request to be released was initially rejected in September.

The former Crawley star is one of five people who are under investigation and stems from a claim from Paul where he said he was the victim of an £ 11 million blackmail plot. However, his older sibling has insisted he is innocent. The forward, who played for his country of birth Guinea internationally, will not stay in Paris where he will remain at a family property. In August, he made a series of allegations against his brother in an astonishing video on social media. Among the claims insisting that the former Manchester United star used a witch doctor to cast a spell on Kylian Mbappe ahead of the World Cup. Pogba missed a call-up to the France squad over the winter due to an injury.
