Jamaica’s highly anticipated QORIHC (Queens of Reggae Island Honorary Ceremonies) celebrated its sixth anniversary on Sunday, March 26, 2023, at the Courtleigh Auditorium, and what a night it was!
The event, which recognizes the achievements of women in reggae, dancehall, and entertainment, was a huge success, with an impressive line-up of Jamaica’s top female stars and industry trailblazers taking to the stage to perform and accept awards. This year’s event was hosted by popular Radio Personality Russell Alexander also known as ZJ Rush and Public and Motivational Speaker Melissa Rickards who made the perfect pair for the diverse event.
The evening was filled with electrifying performances and unforgettable moments as the Queens of Reggae Island were honored for their talent and hard work. This year’s event was even more special, as it marked six years of recognizing the incredible contributions of women to the vibrant Jamaican music scene.
The Courtleigh Auditorium was buzzing with excitement as guests cheered and applauded the amazing women being honored. In signature QORIHC Fashion, a video was played that highlighted the Queen as they each spoke about their journey in the Industry and what being honoured meant to them. The list of honorees this year was quite extensive as it combined the 2022 and 2023 Queens due to a delay of the event because of COVID-19 Pandemic.
