Lewis, the former undisputed champion went onto criticise Fury’s gameplan and mentality against Usyk after the match. Speaking on DAZN Lewis said ‘Fury was boxing like he won the fight ‘No boxer can judge and say they won the fight.

‘Every time a round was close they should look at it like a loss. Two of the judges on night scored the fight in favour of the Ukrainian, whilst the third scored the bout 114-113 towards Fury. Fury appeared to come out of the gates quicker and the more hungrier, taunting and teasing the Ukrainian in the opening few rounds.

During the middle few rounds of the fight, Fury looked to be the fresh and stronger opponent out of the two, managing to hurt Usyk in round six, however, Usyk was to never be doubted. In a momentous turn of the tide, Usyk became the more dominant fighter in the closing rounds. All three officials scored rounds eight, nine and 10 in favour of Usyk. Usyk had Fury on the ropes in the closing rounds of the fight Fury said: “he believed he was clearly ahead on the scorecards going into the final round.’I was having fun in there. I was playing around. I was loving it. I thought I was bossing the fight,” he said of the showboating.

‘If my corner would have said in the final round, go out and finish it, I would have – but we all thought we were up.’In the first six rounds, he maybe nicked one of them. It was close and I tried my best. I came up short.”
