After spending two years in Dubai and couldn’t do music there, I returned back to Nigeria with my friend Ragee, looking for a label to sign to.
My friend Majicstics and Asake were already popping in Nigeria and he called me.
That was one of the motivations that made me return to Nigeria. When I got home Magicstics said he has 2 slots for Davido’s timeless album and asked if I could write songs.
We got to the studio and made Unavailable, Picasso and some other songs, eventually, we met Davido, he liked the song and recorded it. My friend Ragee was like this is the opportunity we have been looking for, tell Davido what brought you here.
First studio section I didn’t say a word, second day I couldn’t say anything… On our last studio section, Ragee sent a message, that if I don’t say anything this opportunity is gone. So I just stood up and said, “Baba I dey sing o,” Davido looked at me and was like, “You’re an Artist like this?” and I replied yes. I played my EP and he asked why is the EP not out yet. I said no platform, and Davido Said platform dey, welcome to the family.
He called his lawyer on the spot and I was signed that same day.
