Godwin Okpara, born in Imo State, Nigeria, is a former Super Eagles defender… One of the BEST in his position in his prime.
The man began playing at a very tender age, doing big things for Nigeria
He was outstanding at the 1989 U-17 World Championship. And based on his performances moved to the Belgian club Beerschot shortly after.
In Belgium, he won the Belgian Ebony Shoe… But moved to play in France for RC Strasbourg and Paris Saint-Germain.
With Strasbourg he won the Coupe de la Ligue in 1997, playing in the final.
He returned to Belgium to join Standard Liège after having a poor spell at Paris St-Germain
