Sean Connery: James Bond actor dies aged 90

Film Legend who was greatest James Bond of all time has died at the age of 90,announced by his family. Sir Sean Connery was best known for his portrayal of James Bond, being the first to bring the role to the big screen and appearing in seven of the spy thrillers. The Scottish star passed away in his sleep after being unwell “for some time” the BBC reports. 

His acting career spanned seven decades and he won an Oscar in 1988 for his role in The Untouchables, two Bafta awards and three Golden Globes. Sir Sean’s other films included The Hunt for Red October, Highlander. A statement from Sir Sean’s publicist said: “His wife Micheline and his two sons, Jason and Stephane, have confirmed that he died peacefully in his sleep surrounded by family. “There will be a private ceremony followed by a memorial yet to be planned once the virus has ended. “He was also knighted by the Queen in Holyrood Palace in 2000.Tributes have since flooded in to remember the acting legend. Bond actor Daniel Craig wrote: “It is with such sadness that I heard of the passing of one of the true greats of cinema. “Sir Sean Connery will be remembered as Bond and so much more. He defined an era and a style. “The wit and charm he portrayed on screen could be measured in mega watts; he helped create the modern blockbuster.” May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace.
