Thando Mokoena, daughter of actress and media personality Pearl Thusi and former SABC sports presenter Walter Mokoena, has publicly confirmed that she identifies as pansexual. Her announcement follows a wave of speculation triggered by a previous social media post that featured an LGBT hashtag.
Pansexuality is defined as romantic or sexual attraction to individuals regardless of their sex or gender identity.
In a candid video shared by content creator 1xrayk, Mokoena spoke openly about her path to self-understanding.
“I now know that I am a pansexual woman,” she stated.
She encouraged others who may feel uncertain about their identities to explore their emotions, suggesting that such exploration can lead to greater self-awareness.

“Everyone—well, those who are within their rights and are curious—should experience experimentation with the same sex or same gender. I feel like it’s a way of discovering yourself,” she said.
Mokoena reflected on how her curiosity began at an early age.
“I didn’t experiment at that age, but I did become curious around 12. I realised there was clearly some attraction, and as I got older, it confirmed things for me.”

She went on to confirm that her personal exploration ultimately helped her embrace her sexuality.“I have indeed experimented, and I now know that I am a pansexual woman. That experimentation helped me figure out more about myself.
When playfully asked about her interest in women, she responded with a laugh: “Oh, the baddest!” Reaction online has been mixed, with many praising her honesty and others expressing discomfort or criticism.
